Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
Mackinac Bridge I & II
These paintings are based on a picture of the Mackinac Bridge that I snapped while on the ferry to the island last summer on a family trip ( i added the sunset vibes for interest- it was actually daylight). If you look closely, you can see embedded papers from the Town Crier, including maps of key trails. Capturing the magic of the bridge was a special way to remember this unique vacation destination.
My most recent work draws more inspiration from color and texture than distinct subject matters, and my objective remains to imbue my canvasses with a sense of emotion. Through the intricate texture and vibrant color in my pieces, I aim to create a visceral response in the viewer; my hope is that the viewer may connect with them emotionally rather than through conscious, deliberate effort. In this way, viewers create their own interpretations through this initial connection, and the narrative of the piece becomes secondary. I was born and raised in Southeastern Michigan.
