Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
We visited Mackinac Island, Michigan during July 2009. I took this photograph of the Grand Hotel gardens in all its glorious color and stylized it as an impressionistic painting. If you're a fan of the romantic 1980 movie Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, then you'll probably recognize this beautiful old hotel immediately.
When someone asks me what my favorite photographic subjects are, I really have a hard time answering, as the whole world is my canvas. Architecture, lighthouses, landscapes, oceanscapes, flowers, cats, and occasionally people have all crossed paths with my camera lens at one time or another. It's difficult to choose just one in a world full of such incredible and awe-inspiring beauty. Having been classically trained as a composer (see my music website at www.betsyfoster.com ), photography is a new venture for me.
